The Bhagavadgîtā is defined on the Internet as the ‘Holy Scripture of the Hindus’ and in order to arrive at a rational conclusion to the problem at hand one must re-examine the characteristic ‘tags’ that describe the scripture. The terms ‘holy’ and ‘Hindu’ categorise it as a non-secular, monastic and religious body of arcane precepts which may not be the choice of most people in this 22nd C space age. It was composed by Veda Vyasa millenniums ago. Since then many enlightened masters and scholars have written commentaries on it. The most famous are:
Bhagavad Gita by Adi Shankracharya
Bhagavad Gita as viewed by Swami Vivekananda
Bhagavad Gita by Sri Aurobindo
Bhagavad Gita: God Talks with Arjun by Paramhansa Yogananda
Bhagavad Gita: As it is by A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
The Bhagavad Gita Explained by Ernest Woods
Gita Satyabodhini by Ashutosh Bandopadhyay
Bhagavadgita by Girindrashekhar Basu
